Went to hampstead heath on Sunday to meet up with Skye, Sarah and Steve. Was an absolute nightmare getting there, every way I tried to go had transport issues, and I was hot and irritable by the time I got there. My frustration quickly evaporated as I walked up the hill and Skye saw me
"There's my Daddy!" she squealed as she ran towards me. I got a running hug and a quick kiss before she asked me for ice cream. Apparently she'd had a tamtrum, dropped it and the dog ate it.
She was very keen on going in the lake, so I explained that we didn't have armbands with us
"No armbands, can't swim" she affirmed.
She spied a stick in the water and went to investigate
"Big dick" she said, pointing.
"No that would be a STICK..."

We walked back to Steve's car and she let me put her on my shoulders, which she doesn't do very often. She fed me bits of her ice cream at regular intervals and somehow avoided dripping too much of it on my head. Had lots of (tiring) fun bouncing her up and down, but she liked the running best. I imagine it is quite fun to be on someone's shoulder who's running. I love the sound of her laugh.

Went back to Sarah's and had some food and played some more with Skye. She did her first unaided roly-poly! Went on to do do daddy-climbing and backflips off my shoulders. I even got her to stand balanced on my shoulders for a while until she tried to sit on my head. I'll make an acrobat out of her yet :)
